Choices. We make them everyday. What will I wear? What do I want for breakfast? Lunch? Dinner? Do I go out or stay home? Chocolate or no Chocolate? These choices probably will not have any lasting affect on your life, but some questions do; which college to attend, what job to prepare for, and who to date (later marry), are just a few.

When I was a child, there were no laws to protect children from abuse by their parents. The belief was that parents would never do anything to a child that wasn't for the child's welfare. But abuse did happen, to children and to wives...and people knew about it. Today, there are child abuse laws, and laws against spousal abuse, but sadly the abuse continues.

In addition, we live in a world that is blind to the abuse. And there are those who are aware of the problem but do nothing. The excuses are there: I wouldn't know what to do. I'm too busy. I don't want to get involved. It's not my business, and others.
